Niki's 30th Birthday with The Southern Atelier

I was honored when Fashion Blogger and Stylist, Sarah of The Southern Atelier, approached me for a feature celebrating her gorgeous friend, Niki, for her big 30th birthday. Sarah is so talented and does everything with a sense of style and grace. She has been known in the Birmingham, and now Fairhope, community for styling the most stunning photoshoots and helping to define an artistic individuality that focuses on a modern Southern style. We started with her husband and pup outside my studio so we could get some fun shots of them together. The rest of the shoot was filled with all things cake, champagne, confetti, glitter, and a modern fashionable play on the most popular + fun children's birthday party -cake smash- theme! Leigh Ann + Jonathan | Engaged

Some rainy-filled days changed up our original plan, leading us to this beautiful Mississippi harbor instead. And we're so happy it did! That's the beautiful thing about life, it twists and turns and sometimes you end up in unexpected places meeting wonderful new people and discovering things you could have never imagined if you tried. Leigh Ann & Jonathan's togetherness reminded me of the waters surrounding them. Calm, serene, and free. They moved together, as the wind moves the sea, finding stillness in between. We cannot wait to be a part of their wedding celebration later this year!

Macy + Ryan

With all of these hurricanes as of lately, the rain has had it's way of rearranging our busy October schedule of engagement sessions, weddings, and everything in between. Of course, when we finally found a day that would work for Macy + Ryan, it was grey and gloomy. I'm a glass half full kind of girl, so the positive spin to this was having the park all to ourselves and the low, white clouds acting as a natural diffuser for beautiful soft light! We had so much fun with these two capturing their love and fluid sweet moments together among the draping Spanish moss at City Park and in then in the French Quarter. Don't they just make the cutest couple?! So excited for their wedding next year! 

Katelyn + Neil | New Orleans Engagement

Jillian + Josh || Editorial Engagement

This couple. Where do I even start? The only way to describe their energy when they're together is with the word contagious. Jillian and Josh showed up in style, of course, as they casually sipped their drinks sitting together on a lively New Orleans street corner that reminded them of when they first met. Jillian walks with an extra beat to her steps, and Josh compliments her aura perfectly. We shared an incredibly sunny and beautiful spring day, as the azaleas bloomed among us. I feel so lucky to be a part of such an intimate and inspiring time of their lives together. Excited is an understatement for their wedding later this year, which I already know will be nothing short of runway-fabulous. 

Shiloh + Daniel || NYE Wedding

On their wedding day, one year would be coming to a close while a new year beginning. It's almost like their love for each other, as it refreshes and becomes new with each day and the passing of time. A new year, a new marriage, and a new life together for these two as the clock struck midnight. Daniel was all smiles, especially when he saw his bride walking down the aisle. Shiloh looked back at him with excitement beaming in her eyes, viewing him in a new light. With confetti flying, toots whistling, music playing, and kisses abound, Shiloh and Daniel tied the knot on New Years Eve. We couldn't think of a happier way to ring in the New Year than celebrating a genuine and true love!

Olivia + Daniel || New Orleans Wedding

When I arrived at the Degas House, ready to capture O + D's special day, one of the first things I noticed was how calm and composed Olivia was. Clearly in love, Olivia and Daniel not only show compassion for each other, but also an overwhelming sense of playfulness as laughter fills the room when these two are together. The weather and the day couldn't have been more perfect. Congratulations to these darling lovebirds!

Olivia + Dillan || Engaged

Olivia and Dillan arrived with a symbol of their love, in hand. Their pup, Colbie, was Dillan's muse for welcoming Olivia home one day with a little bling tied around her collar. Since then, it's been nothing but love for each other as they started planning the wedding and the rest of their lives together. They way she looks at him says everything. He held her hand as she walked over the rocky pathways, which was a simple gesture implying how he kindly watches and takes care of her. Like the sun gracefully shines down upon the flowers, a love like this can help the other to grow. 

Congratulations again to Olivia & Dillan! We can't wait to be there for their wedding next year! 

Christina + Miguel || Engaged

Christina and Miguel arrived with a sense of calmness. I could tell right away that they share a unique bond by the way they communicate so softly with each other. It was a fall day, slightly warmer than the others but still shining a soft, beautiful light. I was first off captivated by Christina's long, luscious locks shimmering and bouncing about as she walked hand in hand with her new fiancè. These two were beaming. We spent the day walking through the large oak trees and the Quarter. After a few ants crawled into her shoe mid shoot, Christina handled it all with grace and a smile still on her face. A big celebration is in store for these two next year as they embark on a journey to share the rest of their lives together. She looks at him, he draws her in to hold her tightly and the world is theirs to take on together. 

Amber + Shelby || Anniversary Session

When I first saw Amber and Shelby, Amber was off in the distance petting one of the French Quarter mules. Little did I know, this couple adores animals and Amber has two horses along with an array of other furry friends on their land back home! It was a beautiful morning as the sun dusted the faces of this lovely couple, who's hearts are full for each other. Amber and Shelby radiate pure joy as they walk hand in hand and talk about their lives together. Congratulations on yet another successful anniversary and we look forward to seeing these two in New Orleans again next year! 

Puja + Praveen || Hindu Wedding Ceremony

There are so many wonderful things about Indian culture. The traditions are so rich and alive with passion. The colors are so vibrant and vast. The music, the dancing, the smells, the silk garments, the never-ending celebrations. It is all so beautiful, this wonderful, exciting, over-the-top experience. I leapt off my feet at the request to be there to document it all. Puja and Praveen blew us all away. Downtown New Orleans. Two full days. Laughter abound. Music. Love. Compassion and people. This is their enchanting day.

Meghan + William || A Surprise Proposal

When William contacted me about being there to capture his proposing to Meghan in New Orleans, I could tell by the way he talked about her (just through emails) that he was infatuated with this girl. His plan was so well thought out with every effort to surprise her, even I was taken back by how good it was. The plan went like this: First, bring her from out of town to visit New Orleans for a weekend of togetherness. Second, take her out to eat on the last night at the exact spot they went on their first date. Third, surprise her with a brand new camera for their anniversary. Fourth, hire a photographer to be there to capture the big moment on day of May 10th, their anniversary. Fifth, bring her to Jackson Square at sunset after dinner and ask random 'tourist' (a.k.a. me) to take a photo of them with her new camera. Finally, get down on one knee and the tears rolled down her cheeks... 

Congratulations again to these lovebirds!

Devon + Chris || Wedding Bells

The pureness and unity between these two love birds was undeniably heartfelt on their wedding day. Devon and Chris both have harmonious souls and it is certain that they were made for each other. We had such a lovely time at this intimate ceremony surrounded by flowers, greenery, and a sense of peace. Congratulations Devon and Chris!
